Overview

What does Local/Current actually do?

Six things: front-desk automation, team AI training, Company Brain builds, outbound recovery automation, AEO content marketing, and website rebuilds, priced separately so you can start with the one problem that's actually costing you money.

If you found this page because you'd heard Local/Current described as "the AI receptionist company," this is the corrective. The front-desk product is one piece of a six-piece toolkit, and most businesses that start with one piece end up using at least two.

1. AI front-desk and answering ($500–1,000 pilot, then $297–497/mo)

Missed-call textback, AI phone and SMS answering, and booking automation for businesses that can't staff a phone line all day. It starts as a $500–1,000 pilot so you see it work on real calls before committing to a monthly retainer of $297–497/mo. It's the deepest-built line in the catalog right now, four dedicated pages walk through it in detail, linked below.

2. Team AI training ($750 workshop to $3,500 program)

A five-tier ladder for owners who want their staff actually using AI tools day to day, not just hearing about them: a free public workshop, a free webinar, a paid private team workshop ($750 for two hours or $1,250 for a half day), and a four-week "Build Your Company's Brain" program at $2,500 founding rate, rising to $3,500. This is the line for a business whose real bottleneck is that the owner is the only one who knows how to use the tools. Full breakdown of all five tiers here.

3. Company Brain builds ($500 pilot to $2,000 flat)

Productized internal knowledge systems, built once and handed over: an internal FAQ agent for staff ($1,000 setup + $97/mo), a done-for-you Company Brain ($1,500 setup + $150/mo), an onboarding agent for new hires ($2,000 flat), or a customer-facing FAQ/intake agent ($500 pilot, then a retainer). This is different from the workshops above: the workshops teach your team to use AI, this line builds the AI system itself and hands it to your team.

4. Outbound automation and reactivation ($1,000 flat pilot)

Appointment reminders, no-show recovery, review requests, and reactivation campaigns aimed at a dormant client list, the customers who used to book with you and stopped. The reactivation pilot is $1,000 flat. This is the piece that turns "we have a list of 800 old customers and no time to call them" into a working campaign. Full breakdown here.

5. Content marketing and AEO

The same content-engine approach already running Local/Current's own front-desk pages, repointed for local businesses. It's built to get a business found in two places at once: regular Google search, and the AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews) that now answer local "who should I call for X" questions directly. This page you're reading is an example of that work. Full breakdown here.

6. Website rebuilds ($3,000–6,000)

Full site rebuilds, offered opportunistically when a business's existing site is actively costing them customers. This is not the lead offer, it's something that comes up if a website review during another engagement turns up a real problem, not something pitched cold. Full breakdown here.

How these pieces work together

They're built to hand off to each other, not sit in separate silos:

  • Front-desk catches the call or text the moment it comes in, so no lead sits unanswered.
  • Company Brain answers the questions your staff would otherwise have to ask you, so the front-desk system (and your team) isn't guessing at policies, pricing, or hours.
  • Content and AEO brings new customers to your door in the first place, by making sure your business is the one that gets named when someone asks an AI or a search engine who to call.
  • Outbound and reactivation goes back for the customers who already found you once and haven't come back, instead of only chasing new leads.
  • Team training is what makes the rest stick, a system nobody on staff understands how to run gets abandoned within a quarter.

A shop with a full-time front desk might skip #1 entirely and start with #4 (reactivation) or #5 (content). A solo practitioner drowning in calls usually starts with #1. There's no required order, the six pieces exist so you can start wherever the actual bleeding is.

Where the front-desk line is built out today

Front-desk automation has four dedicated pages right now because it's the fastest product to pilot and the one most local businesses ask about first:

Where to go next

If you're not sure which line fits, the fastest next step is a short call, there's no pressure to buy the front-desk product just because it's what you've heard of. Tell us what's actually broken (an unanswered phone, a stale client list, a staff member who can't find an answer without asking you) and we'll tell you honestly which of the six lines actually solves it, including if the answer is "start smaller than you think."

Start with the free line check

Ten minutes, no charge, no pitch afterward unless you ask for one. I call your business line after hours with you listening, and we hear together what a customer gets right now. Most owners have never heard their own after-hours experience from the customer's side.

I'm opening in Santa Cruz in September. If you want to be first in line, the free line check is the way in, and I'll book you for the first week I'm on the ground.
