Why are the search results for this so strange?
Search "AI automation Santa Cruz" and you'll get pages titled things like AI Agent Development in Santa Cruz, CA. Scroll to the footer and the phone number has a Denver area code. Or Scottsdale. Or no address at all.
When I looked into this, essentially every result on the first page was a template page generated for hundreds of cities at once. Same copy, different city name. Nobody at those companies has been to Santa Cruz. If your system breaks on a Saturday, you're filing a ticket.
That isn't a moral failing on their part. It's a business model, and it's how most of this software gets sold. But it means the market here looks crowded and is actually empty. There's a difference between a company that ranks for Santa Cruz and a company that's in Santa Cruz.
